For the wealthy Wegmeister-Gloor family, it was clear after the elderly head of the family suffered a stroke that Josef was not going to a nursing home. So the young Polish woman Wanda is hired to care for him around the clock. Since everyone lives under one roof, Wanda gets an intimate glimpse into the Wegmeister-Gloors' family life. So intimate, in fact, that she unexpectedly becomes pregnant.
Oberli gère aussi à merveille sa troupe internationale, notamment Marthe Keller et Agnieszka Grochowska, qui apportent à leurs personnages délicatesse et résilience, en plus de dégager une fragilité intérieure qui rend Elsa et Wanda plus faciles à aimer comme personnages centraux et permet d'arriver au match nul Du moins pour le moment.
