Delphine et Carole, insoumuses
Callisto McNulty, France, 2019o
In 2009, feminist video pioneer Carole Roussopoulos will start a film about actress Delphine Seyrig, who died in 1990 and was her famous and close companion in the struggle for women's rights in the 1970s. But there is only enough time to complete the basic structure. Her granddaughter takes up the work again, sifts through and completes the material to create a portrait of the two radically free women who, in the early days of interventionist video work, fought with fantasy, wit and fabulous eloquence against conditions which no one can imagine four decades later. Light-footed, clever and full of esprit. (afu)
