Secret agent Lemmy Caution comes to Alphaville in 1990 as reporter Iwan Johnson, where he searches for the kidnapped Professor von Braun, who has developed the computer Alpha 60, which controls every movement and thought. Literature lover Lemmy meets von Braun's daughter Natasha and teaches her the concepts of poetry and love, with which he confuses Alpha 60 in conversation.
