Gambit
Sabine Gisiger, Switzerland, Germany, 2005o
The documentary rolls up the background of the dioxin catastrophe of 1976, when an explosion occurred at the Icmesa chemical factory in Seveso, Italy. The case was also more than relevant for Switzerland, as Icmesa was a subsidiary of Geneva-based Givaudan, which in turn belongs to the Basel-based chemical group Hoffmann La Roche. As file rouge, an interview with Jörg Sambeth leads through the film: As technical director of Givaudan, he was accused of being primarily responsible. However, the film reveals several causes and backgrounds and it soon becomes clear that Sambeth is no more than a pawn sacrifice.
